Hey guys and gals. I've gotten pretty far in writing my latest book (ie, 63 pages in length) and I thought it would be cool to ask you guys what you think of the story idea.
- In the year 2109 a mission is mounted by an international covenant (US, Monaco, France, Switzerland, England) to send a starship with seven astronauts aboard to Alpha Centauri (roughly 4.365 light-years away, give or take 0.007 light-years), the closest star system to our own. It's aboard a starship named Persephone, a hyper-realistic starship that is comprised of a rotating-wheel for artificial gravity and a set of blast shields and a payload of antimatter-matter charges, based on nuclear-pulse propulsion.
- The story surrounds the idea of isolation aboard this spaceship for two years (from the astronauts perspective because of time dilation while moving at near-light speed), and an attack by an almost alien energy-matter lifeform that terrorizes them, starting halfway through the voyage.
What do you guys think of the story? And another question: What do you think is a good title?
Thanks for listening to me rant.
See ya.

I've read it over a few times and I realized that my manuscript is pretty short to be a novel. At best, it would come out to like 90-ish pages. So I've decided to take this in the direction of my dream careers and turn it into a screenplay. Here's the story alterations.
- It's basically the same premise, but instead of going to Alpha Centauri, we are going to a newly discovered Sun-like star that is nine light-years away and home to a planet in the habitable zone, and with a planetary system that makes it perfect to inhabit this world. Anyway, it's about earth, the colonies in orbit and on the moon, and the newly terraformed Mars being grossly overpopulated and in need of a new home. So they're going out to see if it is habitable for humanity.
Any thoughts?
