| | | I'm Sorry, Guys | Tue Jun 23, 2009 5:20 am by Cameron Mitchell | Hey, everyone. It's Mitchell. OK, I know it's been a while since I've posted anything, any work, any scripts, and I'm sorry about that, but I've been busying myself with other projects. Since school went out and I've hit summer break, I've run into a rare occasion where I have free time to write, and I wanted to devote this to my shifty secret novel projects, what I like to refer to as "My Creative Hell ( )," since I never really get to delve deeper into them.
So, where I've been not working on this site, I have been working on my novels. I'm writing several and I just needed this kind of time to do this. There's going to be stuff for this site to come, but it may not be until somewhere in late August or early September at the earliest.
Again, I'm sorry guys, but know I'm out for a good cause
Anyway, you all have a great summer. See you when the school year forces me to quit and come back from my creative hell.

| I'm back, and I'm packing a new story! | Fri May 15, 2009 8:55 pm by JohnSheppard | Howdy all, I've decided to make my return to writing because of the fact I have lots of spare time now.
My first deed is to release the 'short' story I've been working on, its nothing overly brilliant, but I think it is
I just gotta convert it to PDF and then upload it for you all
I'll be working with Cam on something new fairly soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that one! As of yet there's no details for you *He He*
Anyways, I'll release another announcement when my latest work is released!

| Frak It All!!! | Wed Apr 01, 2009 10:12 pm by Cameron Mitchell | MAN OH MAN! Okay. Filefront is STILL up, even after their dramatic note about shutting down. But no worries, people! Thanks to my brother, TEH-1337, I have found a new upload site for my work.
www.mediafire.com
Check it out. It's free, it's WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more convenient and cooler looking than filefront, and I'm already uploading my scripts to it, as we speak.
I suggest that anyone that had to clean house of their filefront files should hightail it over there so they can have a good source to have their friends and peers download their files. Looking at you Rodney I've found you a home for your Sins of a Solar Empire files
Anyway, there's one last thing I've found out. Today, I nearly jumped out of my skin when I found an email in my inbox from a BUYER who wanted me to do a job for her!
So if I get the job, it means I'll have to put off episode thirteen of Warp Gate, which is still in the production stage (I haven't even gotten to the editing stage :/ ) So sorry about that.
But you'll see it soon enough, which means it'll kick off the first of the final eight episodes of Warp Gate, and I CAN'T WAIT TO GET ON THE SERIES FINALE SO I CAN GET TO SOME NEW WORK!!!
Oh, and by the way, NONE of this is an April fools joke. Frak, I hate this holiday...
So have a great month and I'll talk to you all soon

| A Sad Day for Our Works at Filefront | Wed Mar 25, 2009 7:40 pm by Cameron Mitchell | OK, here's the deal. Filefront's sent me the following message.
| Filefront wrote: | Dear FileFront User:
We regret to inform you that due to the current economic conditions we are forced to indefinitely suspend the FileFront site operations on March 30, 2009. If you have uploaded files, images or posted blogs, or if you would like to download some of your favorite files, please take this opportunity to download them before March 30th when the site will be suspended.
We would like to give a warm thank you to all of you who have been part of the FileFront communities we have built together. Your support has had a meaningful impact for all of us here at FileFront. Again, we want to give you a sincere “thank you” for your support over the years and wish you all the very best.
Keep gaming alive,
FileFront Management and Team.

I'm thinking this is fake, given how close it is to April 1, THAT, and that they only gave us about five or six days to clean house of our files. I'm going to use SourceForge.net from now on, because this is the straw that has not just broken the camel's back, but snapped it into tiny pieces, pulled each section apart, vertebrae by vertebrae, and chewed on the small nerves inside it. It even took a few ribs with it.
If this works, I suggest that everyone uses it to upload their works. It's been convenient for me in the past, and it seems that everything's worked out well so far.
That, and Filefront's always been a bit... well, kinda crappy.
So, I'll keep you all updated on this, but, because of this bull, I will be uploading my work onto sourceforge.net instead of filefront. I'll work on that now, but it may take a while. Meaning, for a few days, you may be left with just megaupload.com, which is crappier than filefront, to dl my work. But I'll get on it as fast as I can.

| One Year to this Day | Fri Jan 23, 2009 1:28 am by Cameron Mitchell | Well, well, well. It looks like we've made it!
A year this site has been up and we haven't been sued, indited, or anything to do with legal issues, hooray!!! (PS, not that there was a risk of that, we're legally safe )
Anyway, yes, a year ago I made this site with the intention of distributing Stargate Aurora alongside Stargate Hathos. Both projects haven't really gone so well, but they were the seeds that began to sprout out into the site we have today. We're still growing though
Let me just say, that it's been an absolute pleasure, entertaining all of you with my science fiction. Even if you don't like my work (screw you), I still appreciate you giving me a chance, and I hope I get another one
It's also been a pleasure being somewhat of a Produce for this site, adding in new writers to help expand our relatively modest community. It's been an incredible experience, regardless of our small traffic flow.
So, that's all I had to say
Here's hoping we get to do this again next year!

| Update #1 - Darkness Rising Snippet! | Mon Jan 12, 2009 7:57 am by JohnSheppard | Here's just a taste of whats to come!
This is just plain text, it looks better in Word XD But you can get the jist of it
[Cut to scene of inside helicopter, Hansford and Hillier both in SWAT uniform’s minus the helmet, Hansford with ballistic glasses on, and Hillier with normal sunglasses]
Hansford: You really think this is going to work at all?
Hillier: At best it’ll get us closer to the White House
Hansford: Valid point, let’s get this party started!
[Hansford drops a flashbang off the side, before scaling down the rope and landing, swinging his M4 Carbine from his back and forward, Hillier behind him, as SWAT crew’s rappel down from their helicopters]
Hansford: Let’s move up people!
[Cut to overhead shot, SWAT and Stalker’s colliding at a crossroad, piled up cars providing protection for either side]
Hansford: I want a sniper up on that rooftop! Think you can manage that?
[SWAT Sniper and another officer smile and then nod]
Hillier: I’ll take a couple around and flank’em
Hansford: Do your worst!
[An officer is shot as Hansford pulls himself and his M4 from behind a car, shooting towards the other side of the crossroad, him leading on the others in a charge as he jumps the car and begins running towards them, a shot from the sniper is heard behind them, the shot getting a Stalker clean in the head]
Stalker: We surrender!
Hansford: We honestly don’t care!
[Hansford pulls out his sidearm and shoots the Stalker in the chest]
Hillier: Why in god’s name did you do that?
Hansford: Because the less of them we need to worry about, the better!
Once it's done it'll look cooler than this.. even has a title picture XD Dunno why I did it, anyway, heres what else I've included for Update #1!
- Due to be released sometime in the middle of 2009, with some luck!
- May end up as a Series If I get time!
- Never again will I write a screenplay of this size!
- Some graphic's to give you an idea of where the movie is set are coming soon!
Until next update, I'll catcha later!

| My latest work is coming soon! | Sun Jan 04, 2009 6:19 am by JohnSheppard | Well Everyone, I'm putting Stargate Hathos on hiatus until I can re-write about 3 episodes that I lost a little while back in a cataclysmic computer error! *damn BSoD!*
So.. I've decided to write and actual movie screenplay! YES a MOVIE.. Well... it won't be 10,000,000 pages long I promise, but it will take some time to make, but in the meanwhile heres the basic rundown/plot of the entire movie
The president has been killed..
The free-world tumbles into an already dark place..
Two Groups..
Battling for power..
The Stalkers, protectors and false hope for mankind..
The Keepers, ritualistic people held together by the suits they wear..
And me..
One of the last men with enough power to do something about it..
Live the life of a person with no fear..
Become something people will look out for when looking down dark alleys..
Be the man you were destined to become..
This is the way the darkness comes!
Darkness Rising
Coming '09
Look forward to it, because quite frankly, I want this to be downloaded like a gazzillion times when its done! It was originally going to be a novel I was going to adapt to film format eventually.. but what the heck!
Chill!

| Redecorating | Mon Dec 22, 2008 5:46 am by Cameron Mitchell | Okay, ladies and gents, this is Mitchell here. I'm gonna give you the cliff notes on what's been going on at the Sci-Fi Network for the holidays. One is some Christmas redecorating. I decided to not go with a festive theme for Christmas this year, given that I have almost NO idea how to make a temporary theme with our Administration Panel, not yet anyway, ah well, there's always next year.
Next up is that I switched everyone's titles around.
I'm now your local Writer AND Science Adviser, so if you have a science question or need something written up, come talk to me. All of our writers have been changed to a title of Writer, and if you would like something added to that like how I added Science Adviser to mine, tell me and I'll save you the time of digging into the Administration Panel (given that all writers are administrators here).
Next, I've been watching an anime called Gurren Lagann and have been considering adding it to the vault. It's a pretty GAR anime, different from the ones that I've seen before, and it's pretty fun to watch. The demographic is men however, so our lady visitors may not enjoy it as much as we men will. No worries though, because there are PLENTY of other works of sci-fi that are for both women and men here, so don't lose faith in us.
Next up is that I've almost finished penning and editing the new Warp Gate episode, and it WILL be the last one before I OFFICIALLY start up the TEMPORARY hiatus, I may not even get to go on hiatus until AFTER the holidays.
One last thing, GO SEE THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL!!! For anyone who says "well, Keanu Reeves is in it, so it's a bad movie," I swiftly and mightily drive my foot into your face, because you are (DEAD) wrong. It's packed full of action, and it stays VERY well to the original movie.
Oh, I almost forgot, I just wanted to wish everyone a late happy holidays, be safe, stay warm, and have fun, bye!

| I Like This Ship, It's Exciting! | Mon Nov 17, 2008 9:38 pm by Cameron Mitchell | Hello, ladies and gentlemen!!!
Okie-dokie, today, I'll be starting off with some advertising for the site. As you may or may not have seen, I added a forum under the headlining series' category entitle, "The Ark." This is a series created by our very own Mathyos, and it looks very promising
Next, I went to go see 007: Quantum of Solace at the midnight-primere, and IT WAS EPIC!!! Bond struggles through the movie over the death of his kinda girlfriend-ish acquaintance, Vespa from the previous movie, Casino Royale. Overall, I'd give it a 4.8/5. The only reason I knocked 0.2 points off is for one reason, it was entertaining, and I mean REALLY entertaining, but it just wasn't very deep.
Next in line is what I saw in the list of trailers while waiting to see the new James Bond movie that night. One of which was a movie called "Valkyrie," which looked pretty good might I add. Look it up. But the most interesting part, is that we FINALLY have gotten a new look at the new Star Trek movie, which seems to be coming out May 8, 2009, which just bums me out. GET THE LET OUT J. J. ABRAMS!!!
But to see the newest trailer in HD quality, check out the old trailer, or want to see the glorious second trailer in different qualities, go to this link.

And what would be a bulletin without my two cents on post-election events, hm? It seems that President-Elect Barack Obama, and previous opponent, Senator John McCain have promised to work together to help our country. Even through I was a little upset at Obama's victory over McCain, I am pleased that Obama is smart enough to put the immaturity of a lot of campaign fans aside and join together with his old opponent (no pun intended).
Well, everyone, that's today's bulletin. See you around
